Our story
1982

Herman Degols from Aalst couldn’t find healthy food for his dog, so he decided to produce fresh meals himself. ‘Degols – Cornelis’ was born.

1985

Frankie Degols (son of Herman Degols and Rita Cornelis) also believed in his father's vision and decided to join him. ‘Degols – Cornelis & son’ became the new company name.

1997

‘Degols – Cornelis & son’ becomes ‘Degomeat’.

2000

Nancy Degols, who remains our passionate head of production to this day, joined the company. Since then, brother and sister have formed an inseparable duo for 21 years. At the end of 2022, Nancy became a grandmother, but she isn’t thinking about retiring just yet.

2023

Degomeat launches its best-selling recipes in cube form: ideal for using and storing fresh food in smaller, convenient portions.

2025

The next step: Jens safeguards our quality and builds upon more than 40 years of expertise in natural nutrition.

Manufacturing process

Step

The magic of Degomeat begins with our driver, Stefan, as he collects our raw materials from local abattoirs. After a thorough quality check, he brings them directly to our production site in Aalst.

Step

Upon arrival, Lukasz helps unload the goods and move them into our cold storage units. Now, the production can truly begin!

Step

Based on the current stock levels of our finished products, our head of production, Nancy, decides which recipes need to be prepared next.

Step

To prepare the meals and package them into chubs, we count on the expert help of Arsen, Jimmy, and Kristof.

Step

Our freshly produced chubs spend at least two nights in our blast freezer (-25°C) to ensure they are frozen straight through to the core. This is also why our boxes feature ventilation holes, allowing cold air to circulate perfectly around every product.

Step

After freezing, the meals are stored in our deep-freeze warehouse, where we maintain a clear overview of the stock levels for all 22 of our recipes.

Step

Manuel processes all orders and plans the delivery routes for our drivers. During busy periods, we can count on Kris, Geert, or Guy to ensure smooth and timely delivery to our customers.

Step

Patrick & Sébastien are the first points of contact for our customers and work to position Degomeat in the market as effectively as possible.
